What is your favorite subject to photograph?

Sports and women with natural hair. There's something about getting a photo or sequence of photos of a player catching the ball, and I love natural hair on camera. Its versatile and there's power in a woman's crown.

Whose work has influenced you the most?

PHOTOMEIKE (YouTube), Isaiah Haynes (portrait photographer), and Logan Bowles (sports photographer).

How do you educate yourself to take better photos?

I'm self taught, so YouTube is my go to when I want to work on any aspect of my work. I love YouTube because you can treat it just like Google. You can throw any question at it and nine times out of ten, someone has made a video on it.

How would you describe your photography style?

When in doubt, Rule of Thirds. After that, I'm looking to get the clearest and most evenly lit photograph possible with a beautiful background. I also enjoy shooting what I like to call “moody” photos. That’s when I let the ambient light in the room shape my subject.

What is your influence/inspiration for taking pictures?

I want to capture the feelings and emotions of my subject during events. Whether it be at [Jacksonville, Florida’s] Art Walk, a concert, or a ball game.

What would be your dream photoshoot?

Spike Lee in a pair of Jays with the Brooklyn hat and the bill flipped up.
