“Hurt Ngas Jammin” feat. E. Jones

The SQ3 goes behind the producer boards with the incredibly talented and diverse producer, beatmaker, hooper and shoe collector E. Jones! Talking with the mind responsible for so many classic hip hop, r&b and instrumental joints was truly an honor and a pleasure! We enjoyed presenting him with his flowers.

We had the pleasure of being joined by Mr. Al Pete, as we delved into E. Jones’ basketball background, how the church played a huge part in his musical development, as well as how he caught the ears of hip hop legends. We also spent time discussing the inspiration for the Deadstock series, how to recover from “producer block”and the origin of “hurt niggas jammin’” LOL.

This episode was recorded shortly after receiving the news about the Master Teacher Frankie Beverly. We took time to process the news collectively and dedicate this episode to his memory.

This was a great conversation that we truly looked forward to and a must listen for everyone who wants to know more about E. Jones. Make sure to purchase and stream the entirety of his discography which includes his work with Will Jordan, Talib Kweli and his “Deadstock” series just to name a few. Also follow him on all social media platforms.
