The Second Annual Hip Hop Festival returns to JWJ Park!
It’s the second time around with Hip Hop being in the park! The second annual Hip Hop is happening back at James Weldon Johnson Park on February 18th, 2023, and it gets better! Things will be on the same tempo as last year (emceeing, DJing, graffiti, and dance), but the festival will center a bulk of energy around celebrating the late and great Paten Locke.
Paten Locke is one the pillar of Jacksonville, Florida Hip Hop and was a respected person in this space. He’s worked with numerous artists unselfishly and has spread love throughout the Hip Hop world in Duval County, so spreading his influence at this year’s festival fits very well.
Below is the run down of what will happen on the day, as well as information surrounding the organizers and performers. Also, on Friday, February 17th, 2023, they’ll be a VIP event happening and they’ll be two documentaries (‘Outside’ and ‘Recollection: How Asamov Begin) shown that were directed by Willie Evans, Jr. and Che (L.O.V.E. Culture). Make sure you’re following James Weldon Johnson Park on Instagram and their website for more updates. You don’t want to miss this event. It’ll be HIP HOP at it’s finest!!
