'VII' Series: PJ Darrell: 'Muse I' feat. Nia Tunsill

Words by PJ Darrell

““Muse I” is the beginning of a series within a series. If you follow my work, I’m always doing pieces with women. I’ve had a few women in Jacksonville as my muses. One of my favorites was my friend Nia (@niatunsill on IG). I did a piece centered on her 2 years ago and it was so dope that we had to do it again. The series is going to be like the “Maybach Music” of muse paintings for me.”

Random related question: Who is your main influence when it comes to your art?

It’s hard to pinpoint one. My peers in Jacksonville influence me everyday to work hard on my craft, and it’s not even necessarily the visual artists. I have friends that are photographers, MCs, producers, models, podcasters, and many others that inspire me, whether it be directly or indirectly.
