EDITORIAL: Some Words from Mr. Al Pete

Good day to you and yours. Praying that blessings and power is in your space.

If someone would have said to me last year that 2020 would be the year of a lot of pain, grief, disappointment, let downs, hurt, anger, and anything in relation to the words mentioned...I would have literally said ‘get the hell out of here.’

...we’re here.

I pride myself on being a Hip Hop emcee and a DJ, but I’ve found a bigger pride in being a source for letting great people be great people, respectfully. With that, if anyone wants to, or need to talk, cry, share some happiness, strategize, plot, plan, execute, etc. in a way that will add to a rich result...the lines are open. I know if this occurs, this will help me further help and understand about what peace and equality looks like. To be frank...I don’t have the answers and I don’t know how that looks from the position that I’ve placed myself in...as a form of media representation...but I’m open for dialogue...positive dialogue.

To keep it short, because I’m really at a loss for words...I’m praying, as always, for humanity. I’m praying for my race. I’m praying for positive solutions for the continuous attacks on African American men and women. I’m praying for everyone outside of my race that has thoughts on making it better to receive some courage to stand with us (I understand and know plenty that want to help, but don’t know what to do...or, are even terrified to stand...I get it, totally). I’m praying that I find ways to help and add to the positive solutions. I’m praying for it all.

Please be safe and kind to one another. All power. To the top.
