Big Boi receives key to city, honorary day from Savannah, Georgia
Big Boi, one half of Outkast, headlined “For The Love of Hip Hop” concert in his hometown, Savannah Georgia on February 11th, 2022. The mega show had performances by various local acts, along with Lil’ Scrappy, Goodie Mob, Young Dro, and Kurupt. Sleepy Brown was joined by Big Boi and they performed new music from their album “The Big Sleepover.” It was co-hosted by Shawty (…what my NAAAMMMEEE IIIISSS…).
After Big Boi and Sleepy Brown finished performing, Savannah, Georgia mayor Van R. Johnson came to the stage and presented him with the key to the city. Johnson also dubbed February 11th as Antwan “Big Boi” Patton Day. The mayor ran down Big Boi’s long list of accomplishment while the crowd witnessed and celebrated the special moment.
Congratulations to Big Boi for receiving the prestige award and giving the people a great show! Make plans to celebrate February 11th next year, Big promises the crowd that he’ll be back to honor the day with them. Talk about giving flowers!
